How to initialize my NAS?

How to initialize the NAS?

 

ASUSTOR provides various methods to initialize your NAS?

You can choose prefer method to initialize your devices.

 

A. LCM :

(Only provide on the following tower model: AS6, AS62, AS7, AS51)

1. Plug the new hard disk into the slot 1 of NAS, then power on

(or power on the NAS, then insert the new hard disk into the slot 1)

 

2. When you see "INITIALIZE NAS?" > yes on LCM, you can press ENT key to initialize

3. Then NAS will initialize the hard disks by default configuration.

2 x hard disks => RAID1

3(or > 3) x hard disks => RAID5

 

B. ASUSTOR Control Center:

 

1. Plug the new hard disk into the slot 1 of NAS, then power on

(or power on the NAS, then insert the new hard disk into the slot 1)

 

2. Make sure your NAS is connected to the LAN, and PC/Mac are on the same LAN too.

 

3. Run the ASUSTOR Control Center on your PC or Mac.

ASUSTOR Control Center will scan the ASUSTOR NAS on your LAN.

 

3. If it looks up the NAS, it will show them in the panel.

 

4. When you see the " Uninitialized "on the NAS list.

5. Click on the uninitialized NAS , will open the browser to visit the http://IP:8000 of your NAS.

6. Follow the steps to initialize the NAS via your browser.

I)  choose 1-click setup or custom setup. ( you can choose custom if you want to configure more setting

 

 

II) 1-click setup :

- change the server name if you like.

- change password for " admin. To secure your NAS, please REMEMBER to change the password

- choose storage requirement.

III)Start initializing

IV) Register your NAS.

Please remember to register your email as ASUSTOR ID.

1. You can use ASUSTOR ID to login ASUSTOR Support Center http://support.asustor.com when you encounter the technical problem.

2. If you want to install NAS App from App Central, you should register the ASUSTOR ID.

 

V) Now you have finished the initialization for your NAS.

vi) Enjoy your ASUSTOR NAS.

 

 

 

B. Mobile Phone:

I) iOS: Please go to Apple AppStore to install the AiMaster for iOS

2) Android: Please go to the Google Play Store to install the AiMaster  for  Android

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=as.arc.aicontrol

 

1. Plug the new hard disk into the slot 1 of NAS, then power on

(or power on the NAS, then insert the new hard disk into the slot 1)

 

2. Make sure your NAS is connected to the LAN, and Android/iOS are on the same LAN too.

 

3.Run the ASUSTOR Control Center on your Android/iOS.

ASUSTOR Control Center will scan the ASUSTOR NAS on your LAN.

 

4. If it looks up the NAS, it will show them in the panel.

 

5. When you see the "initialize" on the NAS list.
