Why Can't I Upgrade My NAS?
Posted by Support Team ASUSTOR on 12 January 2015 03:20 AM

1. What can I do if updating software hangs or stop at a certain percentage?

Perhaps there was a service/daemon has stuck and wait for the NAS response during the process and cause the issue. Or there might be some network issue (be it connection or others) causing the update process being interrupted.

So, if you cannot shutdown the unit, please unplug the power cord and check if the firmware is updated or not. If not, then you can run the firmware upgrade gain.

***reminder:  Be sure to backup all of your important data for your server or NAS before proceeding with the regular maintenance or upgrade.  Risks are involved for disks and server during the process.***

2. What can I do if I see this message: "The firmware is either not compatible or the format is incorrect. Please check the file again."

Perhaps you have a very old firmware which is not allow you to upgrade to the latest ADM version.

Please select and download appropriate firmware below and install it manually from : [Settings] > [ADM update].

After that, you should be able to update the NAS to the e latest ADM version.
